AIR PURIFIER

Heist

A Helping Hand

Heist was designed as a solution to mobility issues with assistive technology. This would help augment those with weakness of limbs who may also be in a wheelchair. Features Include:

• The slight fillet near the tip of the Tele-Grab mimics the human finger tip and would allow for a more effective grip
• The telescoping body functionality allows for this to be put into a backpack, strap to a wheelchair, or a medium to large purse for easy access.
• The anodized aluminum tubing is a lightweight & durable option for long time use, replacing cheap plastic products.

Using the tab at the end of the rod, users can use both hands to pull the grabber closed, setting it to a locked position once secure.

After analyzing user feedback about Dyson's air purifier range, I identified three critical areas for improvement in fan design: cleanliness, power, and aesthetics. My redesigned enclosure simplifies cleaning, optimizing user satisfaction and product longevity. By redesigning the fan blades, we boosted airflow and pulling power while maintaining quiet function by using multiple blades.

Embracing biomimetic shapes and a matte metal finish, I've endeavored to elevate the aesthetic appeal while minimizing fingerprint visibility by using easy to clean Acrylic as a enclosure for the fan that provides a safe place to view the inner workings of the purifier and also protects tender fingers from the spinning blades. ABS would compose the base as well as the tube.
